The research conducted by the Human Dimensions Lab studies sustainable behavior and decision-making in two areas: (1) food & farming systems and (2) natural resource sustainability. Our work focuses on the ways that individuals make decisions and adopt sustainable behaviors. Within natural resource sustainability, much of our research focuses on private landowners and their usage of voluntary conservation mechanisms that support biodiversity, protect ecosystem services, and protects open space. Our research on community food systems considers both farmers and consumers, and the decision-making process to adopt sustainable behaviors. Lab members include undergraduate, post-bac, and graduate researchers, as well as post-doc scholars.
